According to he was born in the farm home on 12-30-1900. He grew upin Sinnott Township. He attended District 96 school, also known as the Happy Corner School. The school house was still standing in 1976 as the Sinnott Town Hall. It had also been used as a meeting place for the Happy Corner 4-H Club. He farmed the home place until retirement in 1965.
